Why We Built This Site

Dflyco AirView started in 2024 with a straightforward problem: most drone guides online read like rewritten product brochures. They list specs without explaining what actually matters when you are standing in a field, controller in hand, deciding whether it is safe to launch.

We created this site to fill that gap. Every article, comparison, and checklist here is grounded in hands-on experience with the drones we write about. We do not publish content based on press releases or manufacturer datasheets alone.

Who We Are

Marcus Chen — Founder & Lead Author

Marcus is a certified drone pilot and aerial photography instructor based in Austin, Texas. He has logged over 400 flight hours across DJI, Autel, and FPV platforms for real estate marketing, travel documentation, and commercial inspection work.

Before launching Dflyco AirView, Marcus spent three years as a freelance aerial photographer in Central Texas, shooting properties, events, and landscape projects. That fieldwork taught him what actually breaks, what specs matter, and what beginners struggle with most.

He holds a B.S. in Media Production from the University of Texas at Austin and currently teaches introductory drone workshops at local photography clubs. When not flying, he tests beta firmware, compares camera sensors under real conditions, and documents the Texas Hill Country from above.

How We Create Content

Hands-on testing: We fly the drones we review. If we have not operated a specific model, we clearly state that and base our analysis on verified user reports and technical documentation.
Field validation: Safety checklists, maintenance routines, and photography techniques are tested in real conditions before publication.
Regulatory accuracy: We reference official FAA sources and update articles when drone laws change. We always encourage readers to verify local regulations independently.
No paid rankings: Product comparisons are ordered by merit, not by affiliate commission rates. We disclose all affiliate relationships transparently.
